A classic English Bitter style ale
Tatamagouche Brewing Company is a family-owned and operated microbrewery in the heart of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. In 2014, they converted an old butcher shop into a community brewery where they make small handcrafted batches of beer.
Haywain is a classic English Bitter style ale. Malt flavours of toast and caramel are featured while hop bitterness adds complementary balance to malt sweetness - creating a highly drinkable and flavourful beer at an easy 4.2%.
About the Malt 🌾🌾🌾
In this batch of Haywain Tatamagouche Brewing Company featured Innomalt's English Pale malt as the base malt. This malt gave the beer a foundation of toast and nutty flavours that help support the specialty malts in a bitter - especially great in a lighter beer you still want to be flavourful.
Alongside the English Pale, they included a light hand of caramel malts as well as local amber and brown malt. Haywain is hopped with Fuggles, and fermented with a British ale strain.
Haywain is now available at the brewery and through their online store.
